Red K Records CEO Elevates Women in Business
By Darcie-Nicole

To Red K Records CEO and recording
artist Clayton Savage, it's no surprise that women hold powerful positions in business. He feels women are focused, organized,
and intelligent. This former Sugar Hill Records musician and Manhattan/EMI recording artist states that he has had a couple
of formidable female figureheads in his career path; namely Sylvia Robinson and Sylvia Rhone who strode ahead in the male-dominated
music industry.
In a recent interview, Clayton stated, "I believe that women are more than just eye candy for this [music] business,
and singing or dancing are not their only options. They should be in leadership positions! They make up the majority of the
buying market, and know what has broad appeal for both male and female consumers. I believe that many women executives add
a new dimension and a level of ethics, quality, and integrity that is often overlooked within the music industry."
And Clayton stands by his words. He's appointed an exemplary staff of entrepreneurs to serve on his team, many of whom
are African-American. He and his Vice President Elena Reid carefully selected executives, both male and female, who come equipped
with unique expertise and who can bridge hard-earned business skills into the entertainment industry.
In addition to the company's strong ethos on the elevation of women in business, the status of motherhood is embraced
by the label, which does not subscribe to the marginalization of female executives who decide to have families.
"Here at Red K, we want to help women joining this career to discover and reach their potential," Clayton said.
