Spring is here! Put a Spring in Your Step with Some Healthy Tips!

The winter doldrums can breed some bad habits as we are trapped inside, dependent on where we live! Here are some ways to pep back up and rev up toward some healthy ideas!

1. Take breaks from the computer and stretch, walk in place, go for a walk, or just relax and breathe!

2. Watch your portion sizes so that you feel comfy and satisfied with what you ate: not bloated and full.

3. Choose extra virgin olive oil and vinaigrettes for salads and if you use other dressings, watch the amount! Pouring on the goodness is tasty but often packs on the calories and detracts from the natural flavor of your food. Learn to savor the unique flavors of unenhanced food.

4. Opt for your frozen cappucino blended drinks with lower fat milk and skip the whipped cream! If you get ice cream, stick to one scoop!

5. Get enough sleep! Even though our schedules in this business are demanding, we need to be completely rested so we optimize the time we spend on the job.

6. Move around! Even moving your legs or feet under your desk while you work is helpful!

7. Take phone and talking breaks to avoid vocal burnout!

8. Take opportunities to go outside! Eat lunch with colleagues at an outdoor cafe, take your coffee break outside, get fresh air (and not to smoke!)

9. Don't race through your meal. You risk indigestion and other types of stomach upset.

10. Make sure you remember that YOU are your first customer!
